Consortium Approach
The Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield, along with their clinical schools, are internationally renown as being outstanding centres for the conduct of biomedical research. Close clinical and research links exist between these physicians and their colleagues in regional hospitals and General Practice through specialist associations and the sharing of junior staff.
We have grown out of these liaisons, emerging rather than being imposed on these groups of physicians. By identifying the needs of our investigators and establishing the primary relationship with them, we have ensured our investigator network is enthusiastic and highly motivated to clinical research excellence. In addition, close links with primary care physicians exist, which further enhances patient healthcare and study recruitment.
Regional Investigator Network
We select Investigators based on ability, motivation and research facilities. They are evaluated and trained in ICH GCP to ensure our high clinical research standards are maintained. We work closely with hospital trusts their clinical departments and PCTs to ensure our managed trials are both seamless in operation and timely in delivery.
